The situation on the Korean Peninsula is highly complex and sensitive. The development and evolution of the situation have fully demonstrated that military threats and sanctions-based pressure will only intensify contradictions and exacerbate tensions. Political and diplomatic efforts are the fundamental way out for resolving the Korean Peninsula issue. Building a balanced, effective, and sustainable security architecture and achieving common security represent the long-term solution to the Korean Peninsula issue.

As a neighbor of the Korean Peninsula, China has consistently paid close attention to developments on the Peninsula. Its basic policy on the Peninsula issue has remained consistent and stable. China has always been committed to achieving peace, stability, and prosperity on the Korean Peninsula and will never allow war or chaos to break out there. Safeguarding peace and stability on the Peninsula and promoting a political settlement of the Peninsula issue serve the common interests of all. All parties should draw lessons from history, adopt a rational and pragmatic approach to bring the Korean Peninsula issue back onto the track of political settlement. China calls on the relevant parties to stop engaging in deterrence and pressure, earnestly shoulder their respective responsibilities, demonstrate sincerity through concrete actions, and play a constructive role in achieving lasting peace and stability in Northeast Asia.
