On April 13, 2026, Ambassador Li Song, Permanent Representative of China to the United Nations Office at Vienna and other International Organizations, attended the UN Chinese Language Day event hosted by the Chinese Mission in Vienna at the Vienna International Centre. The event, themed “World of Harmony — Encountering the Palace Museum in VIC,” drew more than 800 guests, including heads of international organizations in Vienna and permanent representatives of various countries, to the opening ceremony.

In his remarks, Ambassador Li noted that the theme “World of Harmony” embodies the vision of moral integrity, sound governance and harmony among the people, which is particularly relevant in today's world marked by turbulence and transformation. He emphasized that President Xi Jinping's vision of building a community with a shared future for mankind, together with the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative, the Global Civilization Initiative, and the Global Governance Initiative, are highly consistent with the purposes and principles of the UN Charter. China stands ready to work with all parties to uphold multilateralism and inject strong impetus into the development and revitalization of the United Nations.
Participants listened attentively to the opening remarks and keynote lecture, and enjoyed immersive experiences including an exhibition on the Palace Museum, a traditional Chinese music concert, and a Tai Chi performed by two Chinese-developed robots. Guests spoke highly of the event for showcasing the unique charm of Chinese civilization and commended China's ideas and initiatives for their important role in promoting world peace and development.
