High-level Chinese officials visit IACA

On 18 October, H.E. Mr. Yang Xiaodu visited IACA in his capacity as Member of the Political Bureau and Secretariat of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI), and Chairman of the National Commission of Supervision of the People's Republic of China (NCS).

He was accompanied, among others, by H.E. Mr. Wang Qun, Permanent Representative of the People's Republic of China to the United Nations and Other International Organizations in Vienna; Mr. Li Jun, Vice Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC); Mr. Cui Peng, Member of the CCDI Standing Committee and Commissioner of the NCS; Mr. Shu Guozeng, Chief Inspector of the Discipline Inspection and Supervision Office of the CCDI and the NCS at the General Office of the CPC Central Committee; Mr. La Yifan, Senior Inspector at Vice-Ministerial Level of the Central Inspection Team and Director-General of the Department of International Cooperation of the CCDI and the NCS; and Mr. Chen Ruiwu, Secretary of the Party Committee and Associate Dean of China Academy of Discipline Inspection and Supervision.

Since its accession in November 2014, China has been a key partner for IACA. Along with its generous financial contributions, China has also played host to the 2018 Regional Summer Academy which took place in Beijing. Various tailor-made trainings have also been organized for Chinese government officials. In the framework of his meeting at IACA, H.E. Mr. Yang also had a brief discussion with the participants of the ongoing training in which representatives from the National and Provincial Commissions of Supervision participate.

Both sides underlined that this visit should mark a new stage in the relationship between China and IACA with even greater prospects for collaboration and cooperation in the future.

"China will continue to contribute to IACA's excellent work and supports its important role in providing anti-corruption education. We hope to enhance the sustainability of China-IACA relations in the long term", stated H.E. Mr. Yang.

"IACA is very thankful for the generous and decisive support of China to its activities and initiatives, and hopes for further development of constructive cooperation with the representatives of Chinese authorities in Vienna and Beijing", Ms. Christiane Pohn-Hufnagl, Officer-in-Charge of IACA said.
