Madam Chair,
China takes note of the report by the DG on the Implementation of the NPT safeguards agreement inthe Syrian Arab Republic.
In recent year, there has been no substantive progress in the relevant field on this issue within the framework of the Agency. Under these circumstances, China supports the proposal of the countries concerned that this issue no longer be included on the agenda of the Board. At the same time, China encourages Syria to earnestly fulfil its obligations under the safeguards agreement and to continue to strengthen cooperation with the Agency.
