Permanent Representatives of China, Russia, and Iran to the IAEA Jointly Meet with IAEA Director General Grossi to discuss the proper settlement of the issues pertaining to the Iranian nuclear programme

On April 24, Li Song, Permanent Representative of China to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), together with Permanent Representative of Russia Mikhail Ulyanov and Permanent Representative of Iran Reza Najafi, jointly met with IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi to discuss on how the IAEA can play a constructive role under the current circumstances in supporting the political and diplomatic settlement of the issues pertaining to the Iranian nuclear programme.

The three Ambassadors reiterated that political and diplomatic engagement and dialogue based on the principle of mutual respect remains the only viable and practical option to resolve the issues pertaining to the Iranian nuclear programme. They believethe IAEA and the Director Generalhave all the potential and expertise to play a constructive role in this regard, with the aim of supporting diplomatic efforts and addressing the issues pertaining to the Iranian nuclear programme in a positive and constructive manner. China and Russia support Iran and IAEA in strengthening their dialogue and cooperation.
