On October 30, Ambassador Li Song, Permanent Representative of China to the UN and other International Organizations in Vienna, attended the 13th Session of the Assembly of Parties of the International Anti-Corruption Academy, comprehensively elaborating on China's philosophy, practice and achievement in the field of combating corruption.
Ambassador Li emphasized that the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the Chinese government have been committed to the fight against corruption. Since the 18th National Congress of the CPC, under the leadership of President Xi Jinping, we have carried out an unprecedented fight against corruption, achieved an overwhelming victory, and consolidated the achievement of this undertaking. These efforts have safeguarded the process of Chinese modernization, and won the wholehearted and extensive support of the Chinese people.
Ambassador Li also emphasized that China has been an active participant in and contributor to global anti-corruption governance. This September, the 5th Plenary Meeting of the GlobE Network was convened in Beijing, and the Beijing Consensus on Law Enforcement Cooperation and Denial of Safe Haven for Corruption has been adopted. China faithfully implements the United Nations Convention Against Corruption, carries out extensive international cooperation in pursuing fugitives and recovering stolen assets, advances integrity for the Belt and Road Initiative, helps developing countries build up anti-corruption capacity, and contributes wisdom and approach to global anti-corruption governance. China hopes IACA could leverage its unique resources to better meet the needs of its Parties in law enforcement cooperation, and to build up a platform for mutual legal assistance and other pragmatic cooperation.
