Mr. Chairman,
The Chinese delegation takes note of Director General's report on the application of safeguards in the DPRK and supports the IAEA to play its due role in this respect.
Mr. Chairman,
China always takes the view that, if we get to the core of the issue, in order to attain denuclearization of the peninsula and achieve lasting peace and security on the peninsula and in northeast Asia, disputes have to be resolved through dialogue and concerns of all sides be addressed in a comprehensive and balanced manner. We persistently advocate a peaceful solution to the DPRK nuclear issue through dialogue and consultation. Experiences show that the six-party-talks is an effective mechanism towards achieving denuclearization of the peninsula and maintaining peace and stability there and in northeast Asia. It is also an important platform for parties concerned to improve their relations. Together with the international community China is ready to continue its relentless effort to promote the six-party-talks process.
Thank you Mr. Chairman.
